Faith-based Services

Serving faith-based organizations is a special focus of the Midwest Leadership Institute. Because of that, all of our presentations and programs can be presented in an appropriate faith-based context.  Here are some examples.

The S2 Leadership Mandate

S2 Leadership Edge — Research shows that an effective leader in any environment is a Servant Leader and a Steward Leader. Explore what these two concepts mean — and learn how you can develop your skills to enjoy the S2 Leadership Edge.

In secular settings we call S2 Leadership the Leadership Edge. In faith-based settings we recognize that S2 Leadership is the Leadership Mandate.

Indeed, Stewardship and Servanthood are fundamental demands of faith-based living. For Christians the Leadership Mandate is especially clear in the teaching of Jesus, who called his followers to a life of stewardship and taught his chosen leaders that to lead is to serve.

In our Christian programs we address all the topics raised in our secular programs — especially the current research that shows how S2 Leadership is a key to optimum performance in organizations. Then we also explore how in Christian organizations S2 Leadership is Jesus’ own mandate.

In all our Christian programs, we focus on two things:

  • What Jesus said — and he said quite a bit about leadership.
  • What Jesus did — which is riveting and unprecedented in the annals of leadership.

In our Christian S2 Leadership seminars we give you the insights and tools to live and thrive as an S2 Leader — effective and wholly consistent with the teachings of Christ.

The C3 Leadership Framework

C3 Leadership Framework — Management has three ends: compliance C1and cooperation C2 and contribution C3. Discover the costs and benefits of each — and learn how you can become a C3 leader.

C3 Leadership should be easy for all believers — and most especially for those employed in ministry.
After all, one of the most basic beliefs of major religious organizations is that every human being is made in the image and likeness of God. That means every individual has dignity — indeed, a God-given dignity that no one or no thing can nullify.

  • Who in their right mind would treat someone bearing the image and likeness of God badly?
  • Who would ignore what they try to offer?
  • Who would fail to explore what they might have to offer?
  • Who in conscience would trample on a person’s dignity — knowing it is a God-willed and God-given endowment?

We all do — all the time.

Why? We are sinners. It’s part of the human condition.

Genesis tells us that with self-awareness comes self-centeredness. When humility and trust are called for, we let pride and fear control us.

  • How can we move from pride and fear to humility and trust?
  • How can we leverage our leadership endowments to help others make the same transition?
  • How can we develop cultures of humility and trust that foster the development of high performance organizations?

It’s simple! But it’s not easy. The good news is that believers have some endowments that can help them — and their organizations — thrive as incubators of C3 Leadership.

We explore those endowments in our C3 Leadership Framework programs, and in our faith-based seminars we provide you with the insights and tools to employ the framework in your organization.

Making Your Organization Whole Body Smart

The Einstein Insight: Making Your Organization Whole Body Smart — See your organization in a whole new way that unleashes its power to achieve optimum performance.

Seeing organizations in organic terms instead of mechanistic terms is the rage with organizational gurus today. In fact, it makes a lot of sense.

  • Mechanistic metaphors obscure more than they reveal about organizations.
  • Structural metaphors provide us with nothing more than a skeleton — inert and useless by itself.

So seeing organizations in organic terms is a very contemporary insight. Or is it?

Christian’s have had an organic metaphor to describe their organization for almost 2,000 years. It dates back to the evangelist Paul, who spoke of the church in organic terms — as the Body of Christ — in six of his letters that we find in the New Testament.

In our Christian Whole Body Smart programs we explore the incredible insights and opportunities that emerge when we see our organizations as living organisms — and most especially as part of the body of Christ.
